Sydney's gateway to Chinatown has been captured by the two elegant and traditional Chinese Gates, allowing Sydney to capture the essence of China in the southern CBD.
BellMont Façade Engineering was engaged for expert advice in establishing a scope of works for the refurbishment of the Chinese Gates Structures in Sydney's Chinatown.
Our engineers began their assessment of the site using an elevated work platform in order to undertake a detailed visual investigation that would allow the team to accurately assess the condition of the structural elements of the gates and provide a solution. Our engineers assessed the condition of the gates, and found that they had become noticeably affected by water and weather exposure over time, resulting in significant deterioration.
BellMont produced a technical specification, outlining the required rectification works. These involved replacement of deteriorated timber elements, and application of a protective coating system, to provide long term protection.
