Measuring 100 metres long and almost 5 metres high, this retaining wall has been suffering the effects of poor construction and extensive corrosion for over 35 years. The result is a 5 metre high retaining wall in extremely dangerous condition.
The Owners engaged Bellmont to assess, design, procure tenders, project manage and see through to completion the rectification of this retaining wall.
Rock anchoring and shot-crete were used to provide lateral stability to the escarpment ensuring that the wall is properly restrained and now drained.

A large scale proactive remedial project to remove all traces of corrosion, repair render, followed by façade coating works has been embarked on.
Simultaneously, the Owners have also taken the opportunity to recoat the aluminium windows and balustrades of the building to modernise the building's appearance.
Bellmont is providing project and technical supervision services to the remediation of the masonry façade elements, whilst also consulting on waterproofing issues.
Surfaces are being inspected prior, during and upon completion of remedial works to ensure that the a high standard of workmanship is maintained.
